Feng  Shui  is an ancient Chinese system of arranging the environment for living in harmony with our surroundings. It is a 5000 year old system similar in some respects to the Indian system known as Vastu Shastra.It is believed Feng shui was influenced by Indian culture ,specially Buddhism which went to China through Tibet.

   Balance and Harmony are the two most important factors in Feng  Shui  which affect the process of linking man with the Universe.The complimentary forces that govern the Universe and symbolise harmony are known as Ying and Yang.A balance between Ying and Yang is essential to achieve harmony .For  instance, if the wall of an  office is painted in warm colours ,the  furniture arranged should  be of cool colour, to balance Ying and Yang and bring harmony to the interior.

 Chi is the cosmic breath that links man to his surroundings. Feng Shui teaches us to live close to nature and encourage Chi to enter our homes.At the same times it tries to deflect the negative force Sha chi.

    The Chinese correlate the five elements namely wood ,fire ,earth, metal and water with corresponding directions ,colours and seasons .These elements further influence our finances ,career ,happiness and general well being. By keeping these elements in their correct place and encouraging chi to enter our homes we can actually control our destiny and change bad luck into good luck.

 Feng shui offers simple and practical measures to alter the design and layout of a home   ,building or office to improve our luck. Suppose one’s business is on the decline ,a move of a  cabinet or a shift of a door to a different wall may bring a dramatic change. Very often a child  not doing well in studies may improve by adjusting his study table and bed. Sometimes when we cannot move our furniture a well placed mirror can give the desired result
